Check out the designs presented by Gucci, Fendi, Paul Smith and Bottega Veneta for men’s Spring Summer 2016 collection.
The Spring Summer 2016 collection by Paul Smith is inspired by independent minds that effortlessly blend “curiosity, simplicity, humour and an elegant oddness.” Lots of bold colours and contours mark this collection.
Photographic print recurs throughout the collection. No particular contours dominate this rather free-spirited collection by Paul Smith.
Fendi celebrates “the wabi-sabi beauty of perfect imperfection” through its Spring Summer 2016 collection. Soft and de-structured silhouettes dominate the line which features polo-shirts, t-shirts and trousers “rethought in textures and volumes” as well as cropped tailored jackets paired with contrasting slouchy trousers. Orientalist motifs, flowery swarms are hidden under layers of dye. Shirts and jumpsuits use an interesting fluid leather. Metal is seen on the button covers and Selleria stitches, offering a robotic feel to the collection. Accessories include shoppers and intarsia backpacks, python visors and sturdy canvas or suede work shoes with thick rubber soles. The Spring Summer 2016 collection by Gucci is titled ‘Détournement.’ Explained as “an aesthetic practice that reconvenes dispersed fragments within a whole new meaning,” Détournement offers ensembles with a playful appeal where the ancient cohabits with the modern. It isn’t surprising that some designs even seem a bit audacious, given Gucci has explored the concept of anachrony and created new forms for the future that has its roots in the past.
Bottega Veneta’s Spring Summer 2016 collection for men offers sportswear with a refined simplicity. Inspired by natural surroundings, the collection strives to offer individualistic dressing for men. Chiné knit sweaters and striped cupro are presented in deep shades of green, blue, red, and grey. Softer, washed-out stone and mineral shades are seen in corduroy effect suede, and light quilted pieces.
The bags – backpacks, duffel bags, etc – are lightweight and allow the hands to remain free. Socks, sandals and trekking boots are also a part of this collection.
